Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association has announced the Pakistani cueists for the Asian 6 Red, Team Championship and U-21 Championship to be held in Iran.
According to Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association Chairman Alamgir Sheikh, two cueists will represent Pakistan in the three events to be held in Iran this month.
Ahsan Ramzan and Haris Tahir have been selected for these three events to be held from June 16 to 25. Both players will leave Karachi for Tehran on Thursday.
Alamgir also said that Haris will represent Pakistan in Asian 6 Red and Asian Team Championship, while Ahsan will represent Pakistan in 6 Red, Team Championship and U-21 event as well.
Ahsan will also play the World Junior Championship in Saudi Arabia next month
It is appropriate to mention that the young snooker sensation Ahsan impressed the world with his precision in the IBSF Snooker World Championship 2022 as he orchestrated an astounding comeback in the final against Iran’s Amir Sarkhosh from 4-2 down to eventually triumphing 6-5 and became the second-youngest cueist to seize the prestigious title.
Furthermore, Ahsan is only the third snooker player from Pakistan to win the international amateur world title after Muhammad Yousaf, who achieved the feat in 1994.
It must be noted that Ahsan has already won the national U17, U18 and U19 titles, while he ended up as runner-up in the U21 championship.
Meanwhile, Haris has also captured national U-18 and U-21 titles.
